We are seeking a Behavior Support Specialist in Stroudsburg, PA to use best practices and technology within a community-based setting to teach people with developmental disabilities how to acquire the physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills needed to live as independently as possible.
This individual must be able to handle the pressure of training in a public environment, exercise patience, work with a flexible schedule, and respond to crisis situations.
Ingenuity and creativity must be utilized when determining the best training methods, assistance, and supports for an individual
Responsibilities:
Observe and interact with individualsCreate prevention plans and support plansComplete functional assessmentsTrain staff on implementation of plansPrepare progress reports for individual's immediate support groupServe as an active member of each person's Inter-Disciplinary Team (IDT), which includes involvement in Individual Habilitation Plan developmentAttend staff meetings for various locationsMust cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigationAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree/ masters' degree preferred plus one year of experience in developing behavior support plans and teaching staff to implement plansValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving recordComplete all state and agency required training per state guidelinesUnderstanding and commitment to community-based supports for persons with disabilitiesKnowledge and understanding of local regulatory agency operationsExperience with problem solving against multiple prioritiesAbility to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supportsAbility to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situationAbility to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written formExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent time management skillsEmployees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigationPlease send your resume to:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
